Online Productivity
This is sooo cool. I have Wordperfect on my home computer and have had so many incidents where the end user could not read my information. Now I have a solution to my problem! This is definitely a wave of the future. Hang on Microsoft your monopoly might be coming to an end sometime in the future.
Thing 12 Rollyo and Merlin (Thing 9)
I really didn't see the benefit of using Rollyo for my own personal use. For certain professions I think this would be a great tool to be able to use in organizing RSS feeds, blogs, etc.
I really enjoyed using Merlin and hope to use it in the future-if time allows. In trying to differentiate which feeds I like better I entered Owings, Maryland. Topix was very easy to use and had alot of information right on the first page, Feedster was disappointing it basically reminded me of a google search, Syndic8 was also not very user friendly and didn't come up with any information. So I thought I better try a different search term such as Brittany Spears-again I liked Topix better. I think blogs are okay if you have alot of time to clear through the trash that is out in blog world!

Sandbox wiki
Wiki's are very easy to work, the sandbox wiki was fun. Although, I am not sure of the consistency of the wiki...I just went into check mine and it is gone! This could be a problem if you need dependability.
Wikis and Library 2.0
Wikis are a fascinating way to open the doors to the library in a web friendly atmosphere. I think that customers would benefit and have fun posting their book reviews. A High school summer reading wiki for teens would allow teen to post what books they have enjoyed reading and those they did not, they could also offer project ideas etc. Book discussions could be held via online-thus eliminating time constraints for participants in having to meet. I also think it would be a great way for customers to post what library programs they have enjoyed and also those they would like to see more of in the future.
Most of the Library 2.0 articles were focused on the future of a virtual library scenario. I do believe this prediction will eventually become a reality. Maybe not for the next few generations (especially for those not computer savvy), but for the younger children of today who's world revolves around their computer and the internet -playing on line games, chatting with friends, researching homework, downloading music, viewing videos, etc. These will be the future users of virtual libraries and will open new doors for new ways of learning.

Library Thing
http://www.librarything.com/catalog/mperdue
A great idea for the list maker.....I wish I had time to enter all the books I've read. I know quite a few people who would really benefit from this site and will recommend it to them. It would be great to incorporate this into our system.....then our customers could keep track of what they have read. (I had a customer tell me she read over 14,000 books so far in her life, just think if she had used this!)
